Since humans conquered the third dimension, aviation accidents have happened regularly. In the early days of aviation, with its wire, wood and canvas planes and failure-prone engines, crashes and other incidents were the order of the day.
The files of the Federal Archives (SFA) contain numerous reports on accidents involving Swiss and foreign aircraft. A systematic overview of the known aircraft accidents since 1919 (in chronological order) with reference to the SFA file number of the corresponding accident report can be found here:
